As fate would have it, Darrell Wayne, director of the show, is old friends with Weird Al. Darrell was program director of KROQ Los Angeles in the late 70's early 80's (when KROQ Los Angeles was THE STATION) and played Weird Al's tapes on the air before anyone, except maybe Dr. Demento.
